Rebuilding Glitz Salon's Digital Presence — and Building a CMS to Run It

Glitz Salon is a premium salon franchise with 16+ locations across India, 10+ years of experience, and over 3 lakh happy customers. Their old website was built on a free WordPress theme — not mobile responsive, visually outdated, and impossible to maintain at scale. We rebuilt the entire thing on Next.js and delivered a custom CMS that lets the Glitz team manage every franchise location themselves, without touching code.

The problem

The challenge

Glitz had a website, but it was a liability. Built on a free WordPress theme, it was not mobile responsive — a critical failure for a consumer brand in India where the majority of traffic is mobile. The UI was outdated, the content was disorganised, and there was no scalable way to manage their growing network of franchise locations. Every new location had to be manually coded. With 16+ active salons and more planned, this was unsustainable.

What we built

Our solution

We rebuilt the entire website on Next.js — designed from scratch with a premium, mobile-first aesthetic that reflects the quality of the Glitz brand. More importantly, we built a custom CMS specifically for franchise management. The Glitz team can now add, edit, or delete franchise locations from a dashboard. Each location auto-generates its own URL, updates the central database, and populates its own page with the correct content, carousel images, and service details. We also laid the full SEO foundation and deployed the entire stack on Vercel with Cloudflare for performance and security, and MongoDB as the database layer.

Step by step

How we did it

1

Audit & redesign strategy

Audited the existing WordPress site — identified 30+ mobile responsiveness failures, broken pages, and duplicate/thin content issues. Defined a new content architecture and brand-aligned visual direction.

2

Custom CMS architecture

Designed the franchise CMS data model in MongoDB — each location stored as a document with title, slug (auto-generated), cover photo, thumbnail, carousel images, services, and contact details. Built the dashboard UI for non-technical users.

3

Website rebuild on Next.js

Built the full site — homepage, service pages, academy section, franchise pages — with SSR, ISR for location pages, and a mobile-first design system that works flawlessly across all screen sizes.

4

SEO & content overhaul

Rewrote all service and location page copy, implemented structured data (LocalBusiness schema per location), meta tags, canonical URLs, and submitted sitemaps across all 16+ location pages.

5

Infrastructure & ongoing maintenance

Deployed on Vercel with Cloudflare CDN and security layer. Set up MongoDB Atlas with backups. Providing ongoing hosting, monitoring, and infrastructure support as the franchise network grows.

Before, adding a new salon to our website meant calling a developer and waiting days. Now our team does it in minutes — the location page is live instantly. The new site looks like the brand we've built over 10 years. We finally feel represented online.
